This is my first book that I co-authored with my father. It is about growing up in Barrington, Illinois. My father left behind some of his memories and I edited that and decided to add my experiences and here we are. I've also added several interesting facts about our two different generations. If you are a history buff, or you grew up in the Midwest or in that area, or you are just in the mood for a good biography, I suggest you take a look at Looking Back: Growing Up in Middle-America in the 20th Century. It's a whimsical look back at a time when you didn't have to lock doors, kids played outside all day and night safely, and stores were owned by your neighbors.

I am pleased to announce my second book which I decided to release before my fist work of fiction because I felt it was important. It is a comprehensive guide for veterans which explians things like how to file a claim with the VA or get medical care. It also gives advice on joiining veterans' organizations, how to get help for mental health issues, homelessness, crisis situations, and more In adiditon there is information about education and jobs that give veteran's preference and how to appy for federal jobs. THere are several links to useful websites for veterans and information about veteran's discounts. I also have a chapter dedicated to news about the VA which is going through the largest change in the history of the department. It is a must read for all vetreans or dependaents of veterans. Payback is the new collection of short stories by David Dockery. The stories are all about revenge. One of the stories "Amanda's Magic Rock" is about a small town girl in the early part of the 20th century with an abusive father. David Dockery is busy working on writing and promoting his first book: Looking Back, Growing Up in Middle-America in the 20th Century from his home in Central Florida.
He is also working on his new book: Payback which will be released in late summer of 2015.
In addition to writing books Dave writes for a blog about Gulf War veterans with illness. The blog is a great source for information about how to get help for medical issues pertaining to the war in the Persian Gulf. In his writing Dave talks about his day to day issues dealing with pain and discomfort and offers hope to others like him. He discusses the latest news about the VA and posts links to get help from the Veteran's Affairs for medical, psychological, and claims issues.
