About

Dave Dockery grew up in Barrington, Illinois just outside of Chicago. He joined the Navy in 1988 and was stationed in Oakland, California. While there he took part in rescue from the 1989 hurricane in the Bay Area and he went to war in 1990 while on board the USNS Mercy TAH-19 hospital ship. After his last tour at the Astor, Florida bombing range Dave settled down with a Floridian from Astor, Cathy. David helped raise her 3 kids and considers them his own. He also has 4 grandkids. His health issues prevent him from leaving the house much so he has been trying to write as much as possible.  When he's not enjoying time with his family he enjoys watching films, painting and illustrating, and fishing in the many lakes around his home in the Ocala National Forrest in Central Florida.

In addition to writing books David also authors a blog about veterans like him with Gulf War illness which is a multi-condition illness that includes several chronic pain issues with joints, arthritis, fibromyalgia, nerve pain, respiratory problems, and more. Many of his fellow veterans from the first Gulf War suffer from this problem and like VIetnam veterans they have been denied benefits from the Veteran's Affairs for year. David's already published one book about his home town and now he is working on a work of fictional short stories about revenge. Many more stories and books will be coming from this late-blooming author. Please check back here often to find out more about his latest projects.
